The thrill of flight and magic of soaring across the sky was the inspiration for the group of aviation enthusiasts who established the Marlborough Aero Club in 1928 at Omaka Aerodrome. Since then we've trained hundreds of pilots many of which have ended up flying all manner of aircraft across New Zealand and the world. We are ideally located on our own airfield in sunny Blenheim, Marlborough. If you've dreamed of gaining your private or commercial pilot's licence, experiencing life from the sky, or gaining ratings, new skills or hiring aircraft for current PPL/CPL holders - we're here to help.
Our instructors have a wealth of experience and are passionate about helping you develop your skills to get the most out of your flying. As well as general flight training, our instructors have specialist experience in tail wheel and airstrip training. From the committee to the CFI, we are passionate about real “hands on, seat of the pants” flying training, and take pride in teaching good old fashioned flying skills. We have a range of aircraft to suit most requirements and budgets. We look forward to talking with you about your flying ambitions, and how we can help you fulfil them.
We offer 30-minute Trial Flights with one of our Instructors to get you 'hooked' on the flying bug in a PA38 Tomahawk (2 seater) starting at $125. With The Pilot Experience, one of our experienced instructors will take you for a 30-minute flying lesson where you can actually fly the plane, taking control yourself and feel the freedom of flying through the open skies. With dual controls in the aircraft, the pilot can demonstrate before letting you take control. The experience and view will have you walking away with a big smile on your face.
