ABOUT

The Kāpiti Districts Aero Club (KDAC) is conveniently located on 25 Dakota Road, at the Kāpiti Coast Airport. This is near the sandy beaches of Paraparaumu, 40 minutes north of Wellington.

KDAC is home to a varied fleet of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including a fleet of 6 Cessna C152s, 2 Cessna C172S Skyhawk G1000 (IFR approved), a C182R Skylane, a Piper PA38 Tomahawk, a Piper PA28-181 Archer II, and a Cabri G2.

The Kāpiti Coast Airport has superb weather, sealed and grass runways and close proximity to a variety of training areas.

KDAC provides training for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing pilots. Training is available for PPLs, CPLs, BFRs, Instructor Ratings, Type Ratings, IFR Ratings, Aerobatic Ratings, Night Ratings and Instrument Ratings.

With over 250 club members there is plenty of activity on the Kapiti Coast with the club hosting regular club functions, competition days and pilot evenings.

Kāpiti Aero Club, provides first class practical and theoretical pilot training in fixed wing aircraft. Located just off Kāpiti Road near the sandy beaches of Paraparaumu, and just a 45 min drive north of Wellington, the Kāpiti Aero Club is the ideal base for both students and experienced pilots alike.

We offer a diverse range of aircraft which allow for both basic and advanced flight training up to and including single-engine instrument training.

Kāpiti Aero Club also offers both standard & aerobatic trial flight gift cards in a range of aircraft which can make an excellent birthday or Christmas present.

Trial flights are a great way to introduce a family member or friend (or yourself!) to aviation. There is nothing to compare the feeling of your first time up in a small aircraft and having full control. We have 30 or 60 min options available, and some of our aeroplane trial flights can allow up to 3 people.
