Flying NZ is proud to present the 2026 National Championships, hosted by South Canterbury Aero Club at Timaru Airport from 18 - 21 February 2026!

Registrations are now open, so secure your place at the Nationals now!

A few notes you may be interested in:

Registrations are essential, so please do not delay.
Registrations close on Monday 2 February at 5:30pm.
There is the option of off-site trips to Geraldine (see below). Transport and the Gin Tour need to be pre-booked and paid for.
There is plenty of accomodation in and around Timaru - we recommend using booking.com, or your preferred app, to search for options and book.

Off-site activity to Geraldine - the same trip will be offered for Friday and Saturday:

Hundinger gin tour and tasting is $20 per person and will need to book when registering to secure spot, as has to be pre-booked,
Cost of transport to Geraldine return is $10 per person - based on a ten seat van, if more people register Flying NZ will get a second van.

Other places of interest in Geraldine include:

Barkers shop/cafe,
Military Museum ($15 adult, pay on entry), no pre-registration required for this,
Cheese company shop/tasting, two art galleries, Talbot Silver jewellery shop and various other shops , all within walking distance.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION NOTES

Please check your eligibility for competitions in the rule book (linked below) before entering! Minor changes to these rules have been published, effective 12 January 2026.
Only enter Wildcard events if you have been notified that your application has already been accepted. If you are only entering Wildcard events, please select WILDCARDS ONLY as your competition, then select your Wildcard events in the separate field.
Only enter Wings International Trophy events if you have already been selected for the New Zealand or Australian teams. If you are entering Wings International Trophy events only, please select WINGS INTERNATIONAL TROPHY ONLY as your competition, then select your Wings event in the seperate field.
Judges and officials lunches - please book and pay for lunches you wish to receive. Flying NZ will refund you for days you are asked to officiate or judge.
Registrations will close Monday 2 February at 5:30pm - Late entries may not be accepted.
