The Dargaville Aero Club is a non-profit, self funded, organisation, who's share a common interest in aviation
related activities. The club is sited on 60 acres, alongside the Northern
Wairoa River, adjacent to the town of Dargaville. It has a 1,000 metre
compacted limestone airstrip, with similar length grass runway, which
have been developed over many years. The club is well known for it's
Saturday lunches, which it has been conducting for close on 30 years,
and all people are welcome. The club owns two aircraft; a 180hp Spifr
C172, plus a Tecnam Echo recreational machine, it uses mainly for
student training. The club has a policy that all students must study
PPL theory and pass the exams, and these classes are held each week,
free of charge. Practical flight instruction is also given free of
