The new Kapiti Aero Club is conveniently located on Dakota Road, at the Kapiti Coast Airport. This is near the sandy beaches of Paraparaumu, which is 50km north of Wellington.
The Kapiti Aero Club is home to a fleet of 6 aircraft, that include Cessna 152’s, a Cessna 172 G1000 (IFR approved), a Piper Cherokee, a Piper Cub, and a Piper Tomahawk. A twin-engine Partenavia for multi-engine and multi-engine IFR training is also available by prior arrangement.
The Kapiti Coast Airport has superb weather, sealed and grass runways and close proximity to a variety of training areas. Trial and aerobatic flights are a speciality. The Kapiti Aero Club provides full-time training for all PPL, CPL, BFR’s, Instructor Ratings, IFR Ratings, Aerobatic Ratings, Night Ratings and Multi-engine Instrument Ratings.
With over 200 club members there is plenty of activity on the Kapiti Coast with the club hosting regular club functions, competition days and Pilot Evenings.
